New Traeger Update - Jan 15 2020

I
Not sure this will help but I was having issues pairing grill to phone and ended up having to select the forget WiFi network on the grill and then pairing worked when I started over from the app.
I don’t see that option on the menu function on the grill anywhere. (575 Pro). The app won’t get past this part during the set up.

On the grill menu check under Wi-Fi information. Forget Network is listed there on mine. Hope this helps.

I haven’t seen that option. This is all I can see under WIFI info.

So it looks like your grill isn't connected to your home network. In my case, my grill was connected to my home network but it wasn't pairing with my phone's app via WiFire. In order to do that, I had to forget my network on the grill. I ultimately deleted the app, restarted my phone, reinstalled the app, ensured my grill wasn't connected to my home network (and if it was selected Forget Network), then turned the grill off/on and then started the whole pairing process via the app again and was successful. What I noticed the last time was that the grill downloaded files before asking for grill name. Once that happened, the grill connected and has been steady since. It was certainly frustrating and in my case what seemed to prevent the pairing was having to forget the network on the grill so the new files could be downloaded to the grill. (But maybe I just got lucky). For what it's worth, I have an Android device (Pixel 4XL). Good luck!

I’ll give this a shot in the morning, I appreciate your detailed explanation.

I’ll let you know how it goes tomorrow.. Fingers crossed.
Unfortunately I have to report no joy. I tried this process 4 times this morning and I am still getting the same result. Although one time it skipped quickly to nick name my grill but then would not continue and came up with same error message.

So I have gone thru this process 4 times and nothing. One of the times, it was saying on the grill that it was connected, but then would error out on my phone saying it couldn't find a 2.4 GHz network, which is all I have. After that attempt and reinstallation, it now disconnects my phone from wifi while in connection process and then reconnects. Then it says unable to connect to grill, network already exsits in the system settings. Please forget it from system settings and try again. But I cannot get into system settings to forget it either. I tried my wife's phone as well and got the same results. Needless to say, since it won't connect to the internet now, it won't update. Very frustrating!!

So on another thread there is a post wear Traeger tech support is telling folks that another update will be released in the next couple days to correct the issues with the app. Patiently waiting....

That's the exact same message I received which led me to going into the grill menu and forgetting the network under Wi-Fi information. After I did that and restarted my phone and started the process all over it synced. Luckily I'm still connected and am at a loss as to why it worked for me and not for others. Sorry

I'm sorry it didn't work for you. Glad to see it sounds like Traeger will be pushing out another update. Watch it knock me off. ?

Anyone else not have the prompt in the wifire information nor settings to forget network? We have deleted the apps from our phones, reset the router, tried to reinstall and the error we keep getting is there is already a network and to forget it in the settings. But, we don't have that option on the control panel.

Should be under Wifi settings -> forget network.
I had to forget the network, delete the app off my phone and download again then start from scratch. When I got to the connect your grill part in the app it would keep prompting to to connect grill to the wifi network and then say unsuccessful even though the grill showed it was connected to my home network. After shutting down the app and turning off the grill and unplugging it I opened the app again and it now showed the grill was offline with its government given name. Turned the grill back on and now I had connection. Not sure what happened with turning everything off and opening the app with the grill unplugged did, but it worked for me.

I'm not going to fight this 575 any longer. This grill has been a nightmare ever since I bought it in July 2019. Home Depot gave me a year to return and Im going to dump it back in their lap. Apparently Traeger won't ( or can't ) get their products to work. I'll give Rec Tec a try as they seem to have their product and customer support spot on. Good luck everybody.
