New Traeger Update - Jan 15 2020

I'm not sure about Android products, but I know for a fact you can manually control when to update an app on Apple products. I know so because I set it to where I manually update apps, operating systems, etc. on my iPhone, Mac Book, and iPad.

You're absolutely right; I got a little carried away in writing my post. I have my Galaxy set up so that I can manually choose app updates but there are a few occasions where--after a firmware update on an app-controlled device--it won't work without also updating the associated app. But we do not have the luxury of delaying a firmware update on our smokers.

While the update applied fine to my Pro 780, I have not been able to get the Traeger App to connect to the grill. I've even uninstalled from my iPhone, reinstalled, re-paired the grill through the QR code and still can't get the app to connect. I don't have any cooks planned in the near term, but dissapointing that with one improvement, there is another defect. I'm finding that Traeger may build a competent smoker, but they are on the learning curve for deeper technology integration in their products.
Same here. Traeger App hangs on launch and doesn’t make it past the logo splash screen. I’ve been working with them on a meat probe +\- 20 degree variance issue for the past two weeks and don’t really have the emotional energy to explain this new problem to the warm body in Manila who answers the phone. I’m counting on one of you brave folks to report this : )
Underneath the grill model, you should see this sequence of numbers: v02.00.00...I had power grill off and turn it on again, or disconnect and re-pair App with WiFIRE.

I also deleted app and re installed it

Having trouble... I’ve deleted app, deleted “my Grill” and still having trouble pairing my wifi with Wifire. Please help!

Yep, all screwed up. Fired up the grill and it says the grill is "offline". Then it sent me a notification the the grill was preheated. Very frustrating.

mine updated and works just fine. threw a brisket on at 10pm and have been getting updates all night / morning. do you all have the latest version of the app?

I don't know if they pushed some other update thru but mine is now working. I'm doing a reverse sear tonight so it will be interesting to see if I get the wild temp fluctuations.

I am in the exact same boat. Mine was working perfectly this update deal.. Now I can’t get it to go anymore. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

After An hour and a half, I Spoke with two Traeger representatives about Internet connection problems follow update to app. Still have not resolved problem and have escalated the problem to a level III tech ?

Baco...looks familiar:(
Not sure this will help but I was having issues pairing grill to phone and ended up having to select the forget WiFi network on the grill and then pairing worked when I started over from the app.
