Failed to download certificate files

This is basically the process I myself and many others have tried multiple times ad nauseam. I followed this exactly, adding in the phone power cycles (only difference to previous procedure.) The problem I have is that at step 8a, the grill connects to my WiFi, and I get the "Nickname your grill" prompt. After entering a name, the app goes right back to main screen, with no grill attached. And the grill remains connected to my WiFi, but doesn't download the v2.0.0 firmware.

To get that to happen, I must "Forget Network" on the grill, and start pairing setup once again. This time is does download v2.0.0, but then errors out with the "Grill failed to download certificate files" message. From this point on, it's a constant loop. Pair setup -> Certificate error.
Same experience I had after naming my grill! I’m so frustrated and to top it off I just received a chicken rub from Traeger for the trouble :/
 
I have had this thing for 8 or 9 months with nothing but problems. They finally sent me a complete rebuild kit and that fixed my probe and temp problems but now it takes over 20 minutes to start. When it finally starts I have to wait forever for the temps to come down because it pumped in so many pellets trying to start. Now this crap.

The best part about all this is my brother and buddies all have Pitboss and Rectec grills so I have to hear shit everyday that there grills work perfectly.
I think there might be a simple fix to that. Make sure the Hot Rod is sticking out about 1/4" into the fire pot. Had same problem with my Timberline taking for ever to fire up and after 3 calls I got a tech that knew something.

These latest updates have done nothing but mess everything up. My Ironwood has Version 2 apparently installed but since then can't connect to the internet and the app is virtually useless. Latest update got my hopes up. Now I keep receiving can't connect of password incorrect which isn't the case. Assuming another call to Tech Support is in my future. Remind me why I wend for the WIFIre version????

You will most likely have to reset the firmware back to factory default and then leave grill in standby mode and wait till Treager pushes the new updated to your grill. Some have received the update within hours of doing that and some like myself have had the grill in stanby going on 72 hours now with no update. The procedure is posted a few pages back.

I reset my grill days ago as well, still no update pushed yet, just more generic responses from traegers customer service.
 
I´ts very very annoying that I cannot reset the Traeger... settings/about and then almost pushed the ignite button thru the panel until logo shows...
But nothing... still 2.0..

Same thing here, but I'm on 3.0...the Traeger logo just never comes up. I've flipped the switch off, waiting, and tried again; nothing.

This main issue I have right now is that I can’t forget my WiFi network on the grill. I’ve removed the grill from the app and my grill just shows the WiFi info but with zero signal. If I select ‘forget network’, it just gets stuck on ‘forgetting network’ and when I restart the grill it’s back to the same 0 signal WiFi and the option to ‘forget network’ again.

If I can't forget my WiFi network, and my 'WiFi Information' screen is showing 0 signal, then how am I supposed to get a new update?
 
Maybe a question to ask on Instagram today. I'm now trying to figure out how to use Instagram. lol
 
I'm pretty happy with their new setup, it appears that this "cloud" implementation has really improved the missed notifications. I have the new iOS app version 1.4.1 and my T850 is was sitting at rev 2.0 last night. I have had the grill in standby for a couple of days incase a newer version is sent to the grills this week.

Just now, I went outside and powered up the grill (with the app closed and not running in the background). I checked the grill firmware version, still showing 2.0.0 I then put the grill back into standby, immediately the grill sent me a notification to my phone and watch that the grill was shutdown! With the app not even running, sweet.

I then opened the app, it connected to the grill in 1-2 seconds and shows "Sleeping", so overall the WiFire connectivity and latency is much improved in my experience since they re-worked the setup.
Does this mean that we should be able to 'power on' the grill when it's in standby mode (screen off, power button glowing)?
 
Received my grill for Christmas and NO problems until update! Experiencing the same WIFIRE issues with my Traeger Ironwood 885. I still have not received an update to 2.0. At one point, I was asked to name grill and then disappointed with taking me back to “Error Provisioning Grill“...so frustrating! My wife has now given me a Traeger Time Out!!?
 
I talked with Traeger Rep and he adviced new firmware Ver. will be out soon...Vs 02.00.01 to clear up connectivity issues.

I havent had any issues with the Pro 780..I guess to all others hurry up and wait!!!
