Welcome to the site! Please post an introduction thread!

Good evening,
I’m Stephen, active duty Navy stationed in DC but originally from Irmo, SC. I’ve had my pro 22 for close to a year now with no issues. I even got lucky and stumbled across the steer head smoke stack before they all disappeared! I also got lucky behind the same ace hardware and found a mostly stripped ironwood 885 that the controller went bad on and the plan is to now slowly collect parts on a budget to put it back together and smoking. (If anyone base parts please pm me, need fans, auger, motor, and auger box).
Happy Thanksgiving!

Welcome to the forum @sarneson91 & thank you for your service! I like that steer head smoke stack! The Ironwood 885 will be a great unit once you get it working.

Was just gifted a Century 885. Have not cooked on it yet only seasoned. I'm an old offset purest but starting to get too old and impatient to tend a fire all night. Looking forward to trying something new. I'll let you know how things go.

Welcome. There are a bunch of sites that have parts available to replace those that you need. There is also a FB group call "Traeger aftermakert parts and ideas" that I think is own by Shawn Hensley that might be able to help you. Let us know how it goes once you get it up and running.

Hi all, I have been cooking for a long time and decided to get a pellet grill and improving my skills in outdoor cooking. I love to cook, bake, grill and smoke. Looking forward to learning, reading and sharing on the forums! Just picked up my Ironwood 650. All seasoned and ready for the first cook tomorrow.

Welcome! Enjoy the journey.

Picked up the "Red headed stepchild" (Fremont) at Costco about a month ago. Sad to see no accessory support on the website, but enjoying the grill. It is large enough for what I do, just me and my wife and the occasional grandchild.
This is my first pellet grill and before this I was using gas and a smoke generator to good effect. So far I have done a pork shoulder, ribs, and some grill stuff (burgers, dogs, etc.). Did a Take and Bake pizza last week on a stone, should have preheated a little more on that one, but it turned out well enough.
I took the time to install an outlet on the rail side of my deck for easier connection.

Hi there. I have been using a Traeger Little Tex Elite for roughly 12 years so I’m not new to pellet smoking, just new to this forum. I recently sold it and bought a “lightly used Big Tex Elite for a very good price. I am missing my Lil Tex. Controller on the big tex is missing the P value setting for adjusting the smoke settings so I can only smoke at roughly 160 degrees which provides much less smoke than the other one used to when smoking down into the 120 degree range. I’m also noticing it starts “cycling” the auger when it reaches 430 degrees while set on max so I never reach 450. Another thing I noticed was it will “drip” onto my deck from the pellet box end in between where the box is attached to the barrel. I had none of these issues with my previous Lil Tex, maybe I just got a dud with this one?

TraegerForum.com is the one of first websites dedicated to Traeger Owners and Enthusiasts. Our goal is to be the go to place for all Traeger pellet grills discussions.

To keep the place friendly, we ask that every new member post up an introduction thread letting us know a little bit about themselves, their current (and future) grills etc.

Please help us keep this site friendly and informative! Thanks in advance.
Hello from AZ 🙂 I’m brand new to the smoker world… just bought my pro750 yesterday! Any words of wisdom for a beginner would be greatly appreciated! What’s the best meat to start with? Do I need an injector? And then there’s so many different pellets, I’m already overwhelmed! Looking forward to my first try though…

Welcome to the forums. I would suggest smoking a butt/shoulder. I have done both injections and non injection and they all come out great. It's ok to make mistake since it's gives you a lesson. Enjoy!

A butt is probably the most forgiven thing you can do. Lots of leeway on time and temp.
