Traeger v01.01.01 Firmware Released!

I got confused because the grill said it was updating lol
Firmware didn’t update just the config version.
I had the same thing happen. The config updated first and then 10-15 min later the firmware version updated too. You are good.

yes, this is unfortunately exactly my experience too.

sorry, this was supposed to have quoted Mister T's BBQ's post, but it seems to have disappeared. Here is it:

"This has done nothing to fix the issue with my Pro 575. I tested it yesterday. Grill was set to 225, RTD probe read between 240's and250's with actual temps being in the lower 180's to 190's. Set at 450 it reached just above 350. I've had this grill since march, it took me 18hrs to cook a 9lb brisket and I'm pretty much at the point, I hate my $800 grill, and will be calling about returning it today"

I turned my 575 on and it was the old version. After a few minutes it updated automatically. My version still shows 1.01.00 but the Config on the D2 controller changed to 4.010. I Set the grill to 180F and it holds at 180F. Cheap oven thermometer says 175F which is close enough. Thank you Traeger,
New guy here. So if you buy a new smoker today, will it automatically update when turned on first time?

That is correct. It will update automatically once you connect the grill to the internet via your home wifi router.

Thank you so much. Been wanting to upgrade to pro 575 but have been following these posts and pulled the plug. Now I'm thinking go ahead and take a chance hoping the problem is solved. Thanks again.

I received the firmware last weekend. It worked pretty solid unless I wanted to go higher than 400 degrees. Over the week I vacuumed it out and replaced the foil on my drip pan. Running it today and there’s about a 30 degree difference in what the smoker says and my ambients say. Running it at 230. I read above about ash in the fire pot. Mine did better after the update with grease and ash in it than it is doing now.

Well, I am experiencing the same issues as the rest with a Pro 575. During seasoning the "grill" was showing 450 degrees. Actual ambient was 350 degrees with a oven therm. Wish I would have found this thread sooner. Called customer support twice. The second call atleast got me a new RTD. The grill has updated as far as I can tell. We shall see if the RTD fixes the issue.

I suspect we will see another Firmware update this weekend or next to fix the remaining temperature discrepancy.

I’m still very pleased with the grill.

Turned on my Ironwood 650 this morning and was presently surprised with the 01.01.01 firmware!

Same here. It must have happened overnight as it wasn't updated yesterday.

I cooked chicken breasts today and the grill temp was pretty accurate within a few degrees from turning it on through 350 range. after the cook, i checked the firmware and it was still the same 01.01.01 config 3.006 which was updated the previous weekend. That weekend after the update, it was off 15 degrees in the 200 range. Maybe it was the grease coating on the rtd that fixed the problem?

Update!! I contacted Traeger C.S. in order to check on when my replacement RTD probe would be sent out. After a 30 minutes on hold I was informed the RTD'S would not be back in stock until July. No firm date given. I asked if any further firmware updates were being considered. I was told ...."Not that we no of". For inquiring minds Cabelas has a 90 day return policy. Mine will be for sale in the bargain cave at weeks end! So long Traeger!
