Pro 575 Not Achieving Temperatures

Well received my package from Traeger but Instead of sending me a rtd they sent me a meat probe ??‍♂️ . Called customer service. Was fed the avg temp 3 different location line and that my 2 oven thermometers are wrong. Asked for a supervisor and was put on the “call back” list

Traeger’s corporate culture is one of deceit and denial. The only way to get their attention is to stop buying their products and tell as many as you can to do the same.

If possible you need to return the grill and get your money back. You can always purchase it again “if” Traeger corrects the problem. I know I have posted this suggestion several times. I hope you can get your money back. What is really irritating me is Traeger is still sending emails telling us to buy a grill that they know is faulty.
This ^^^^^^

I sold my Traeger Jr. for $200 after 2 years of use (purchased at Costco for $299 with cover) and picked up the Century 22 from Costco. I put it together and the storage door would not close without force. The bigger problem was the smoke setting NEVER worked other than starting it. It would always end up in an error. The kicker was when the heat shield over the fire pot warped to the point that I could not put it back in (thanks to a design flaw). Traeger customer service told me they did not stock that part anymore and to wait to hear from them for 10 business days. Two weeks later, no call from Traeger. No problem. I returned a 9 month old grill to Costco for a full refund. Turns out they changed the model and I bought the current Century 22, the one with the useless warming oven.

It's been great, and works wonderful on smoke. I still have it.

Traeger customer service is hit or miss. Lately it's been hit. I bought the fold down shelf for my Century 22 and after a couple of years, it's starting to rust in places. I sent pics and they sent me a new one.

I bought a new Ironwood 885 with the shelf and I bought the cover. The cover had a place where the seam was not properly stitched. I sent a pic and they sent me a new one.

While I did not buy my Ironwood from Costco, I bought it from my local dealer where I've bought my Big Green Eggs. If I have a problem with it and Traeger was not responsive, I'd take it up with my dealer, just like with Costco.

So far, I've been happy with Traeger Customer Service and my Traegers. My issues were solved one way or another.

I could have spent the money on a Rec Tec, Yoder, Pitts & Spits, or even a Timberline 1300, but the Ironwood 885 made the best sense for me and with the folding shelf (which should be standard IMHO) it's a fantastic grill.

Well the 575 is gone. I was upgraded to an ironwood 650 that included a cover, front folding rack, and 2 bags of pellets all free of charge. Burning the 650
In as I type and she’s spot on the money with my oven thermometers.

That's great news and a great dealer! My 650 works great since the firmware update. Meat probe is within 1 degree of my thermapop when out into boiling water so no offset needed. Pit RTD is close so all good. You will be very happy with the 660 imo. Cheers

I dropped by a Platinum dealer today had had a look at the RTDs in the Pro 575, Pro 780 and Ironwood 650. Kinda confirmed my suspicion that there is an issue with the RTDs in some of the models because they didn’t look the same. The 780 RTD looked like a small spoon shaped silver thing sticking out of the tube. The 575 looked like my 575 with a silver cone sticking out of the tube. Strangely enough, the Ironwood 650 just had an exposed wire sticking out with the insulation removed at the end. Doesn’t make any sense that all three would look different. Curious to see what the new ones look like when they come back in stock in a few weeks.

The 650 is also placed much higher in the barrel than the 575.

purchased a Pro 575 a week and a half ago - took 26 hours to cook brisket - this was my second traeger grill - loved my first 1 - starting to hate this grill - and not getting anything out of Customer service on the issue of it not getting to the temperature it says its at 200 degrees i can place my hand on the grate and its warm not hot - placed oven thermometer in grill and when the grill says 300 it shows 245 - at 350 it shows 295 - at 400 it shows 345 - and at 450 it shows 390. major problem for traeger. i purchased this wanting to have a 4th of july BBQ for friends and family to show off new grill. Not going to happen since grill is not working correctly. very disappointed in traegers lack of response. Thinking of returning this grill and purchasing a grilla grill. my friend has 1 and at least customer service will answer his questions and are willing to help him.

I just talked to my dealer and they talked to their sales rep, they called me and said bring the grill back. So I'm cleaning it up and it's going back. So sad that we have to wait 4 weeks to get the batch of RTD's only to pray it fixes the issue. Let see if my ironwood 650 im getting holds up.

I feel your pain, I hope traeger took a big hit on these units.

I called Traeger today. They were actually helpful and quick to listen to my massive temperature issue and the length of time it’s taking to cook food. She did a diagnostics test remotely and explained that it takes temperatures at three different spots etc etc. She then went on to say there are known issues with the thermocouple taking temperatures and would be sending one out anew one in 3-5 days.
Instructions how to replace thermocouple are included and apparently easy to do. For a brand new grill to have this issue and for Traeger to have a “fix” they most definitely know there is a major issue on some of these grills. She told me to increase the temperature for the time being to get the food cooked properly.
We will se how quick this part arrives and once replaced I’ll give an update. I really want to like this grill.

I wish you the best of luck with that. They told me the same thing and sent me a meat probe lol. When I called back I was given the 3 different spots spill and was told the other thermometers I’m using are wrong. That’s when I returned mine 575.

Watch they ship you a meat probe...........instead of an RTD. Hope yours gets fixed.
