Pro 575 Not Achieving Temperatures

get rid of those bull horns and I'll buy one of those Rec Tecs.
I have 1 more month to return to HD. Cmon Traeger fix the temp problem.

Hahah I said the same thing about the horns. But when mine showed up, i stalled the horns it really isnt that bad...

So glad i took my traeger back and got the Rec Tec. Its exactly what a smoker at that price level should be built like.

Just curious. Here is a picture of the RTD on the right inside wall of my Pro 575. Notice it has a silver/black nose cone sticking out of the tube. I’ve notice a few pictures of other people’s grills and they appear to be missing the cone. Some grills seem to just have just a wire sticking out with no cone.

This might explain why I’m not having the temperature issues that others are complaining about. Have a look and let me know if your RTD is the same of different in your Pro or Ironwood..

mine didn't look anything like yours - just bare thermocouple wires

After numerous attempts to achieve the temperature that the pro 575 grill is supposed to be at and numerous emails and a final call to customer service, we sadly returned our grill to Home Depot yesterday, they refunded no questions asked. Traeger Customer Service stated they are still working on the temperature issue and it was unknown when the fix would happen. We didn’t want to wait months for a fix. We are now contemplating the 2018 Pro 34 Series which does not appear to have anything but stellar reviews.
Fortunately Ace Hardware gave me my money back on my Pro 575. Tried to cook several times but temperature was off. Ace tested my grill with two different types of temperature gages and found it to be 100 degrees off. They me offered a package deal on the Pro 22 and I took it. Thank you ACE.

My first 575 didn't have the little cone end and my second one does. Both have the issue with actual temps approx. 25% below set/displayed temp.

Pro 575 owner. I’ve done a few cooks on it and each time it’s been way off on time and temperature. My first batch of ribs were good but took way to long to get to temperature. First 8 lb pork shoulder took almost all day. It turned out great however everyone had to wait till after supper time to try it. Tested my temps today. And they were consistently 30/35 degrees off. No wind. Outside temp is above average. Firmware updated. I keep hoping the issue gets fixed but I may be returning this and looking to either upgrade or switch smokers to a different company

Hello everybody,

I too am new to the pellet smoker world. I've been eyeing one for a long time, using my gas grill until I could save up enough to get one. I looked at a lot of brands, but when I saw the WiFire technology, I thought I had to get it. Today's my first day of use and have ran into some issues that make me want to take it back and go back to my cheap WalMart gas grill that worked.
First, My pork butt roast (just a little over 2 lbs), has been on the smoker for a little over 6 hours, 3+ of which it has been on 300 degree+ settings - and its still not done to pull apart. The current internal temp is 199 degrees. It seems like a very very long time to smoke a 2 lb piece of meat.
Second, the WiFi technology seems to be a dud. It won't connect to my home wifi. I spent 1 hour on the phone with customer service, and after we uninstalled and reinstalled the app about 5 times, all they could tell me is that I need a wifi booster, despite the fact that my grill lies 25 feet away from my router, and all my other mobile devices get wifi just fine from there.
I know when I hooked mine up in the garage it was maybe 25ft to my router no signal moved it into the doorway of the garage boom excellent signal only moved it like 5ft

Traeger finally agreed to send me a new temp sensor since mine was way off. Only problem is that it is out of stock and on back order, : (

Someone on the Traeger Facebook group mentioned that they just spoke to customer service and another firmware update for the Pro series is being pushed out this week.

Can anyone confirm?

Newbie here. Bought a 575 last weekend and it’s off by 85°. Contacted Traeger this morning. Immediately told me they were sending me a new rtd. Mine currently does not look like the one silver one posted. Firmware and software are up to date. Hopefully the rtd fixes it. If not, she’s going back
