The take-home message seems to be however that one shouldn't expect the temperature inside the grill and what is reported on the controller to match....
Yep, my RecTec has been within 4-5 deg of my ThermPro. Super constant during a cook too. They are some funny folks when they don’t have an answer lol. Oddly enough the Rec Tec is on the money.
This could be part of the smoking gun. In my case though my 575 was way off yet it was about 70 deg out with no breeze. Something must be super sensitive, which may mean a simple fix via firmware could be tough
Traeger's engineers should use your grill as a model to figure out how to cure everyone else'sGrilled my first burgers on the Pro 575 tonight. Threw some potatoes and vege’s on too. Set the grill to 400F and it held about 380F. Burgers were phenomenal. Slight temp gap but the food turned out great!

Iam not sure if the smokers that are having issues are from a batch that went to specific stores or not. I wouldn't think so.
I got mine from home depot because I knew that their return service is way way more relaxed then say Ace or Traeger.
Cabelas took mine back no questions asked. Until the issue gets fixed I would steer clear. Issue is too widely reported and documented. Got a GMG Jim Bowie. Works great.
