Haha. Sorry about that but I think if they actually sold these things at HD, Traeger would have slim pickings.

I agree, Traeger has the mass market locked down right now because of all the big box retailers. It could change fast if they don't get these issues resolved. It wouldn't hurt to send all of their customers a nice little gift for sticking it out (Rub, BBQ Sauce, etc)
I purchased a Polaris Slingshot when they first came out and it had several major issues. The dealership was great and eventually got everything fixed but I had to take it in a few times to complete all of the recalls. Polaris ended up sending out a pretty cool bluetooth speaker. I know it's small but it was the thought that counted.

I agree. It would go a long way with folks if Traeger at least admitted there was a problem and was apologetic about it. Their strategy of denying there is a problem and hoping people just accept it (while they quietly work on a solution) was what really turned me off for good.
Just reading the comments here has made me hold off on my purchase. I really like the idea of the WiFi control. Until I heard about the Traeger I was going g to go with the Green Mountain Grill. Now I am totally lost, and feel like I need to start my research all over again.

I was in talking with our local Traeger retailer and the guy there actually recommended a Rec Teck unit. As I'm in Canada it's not really on option, but yu may want to look into them. They are wifi-enabled.
Thank you. After looking around today I think I am trying to decide between the Rec Tec Stampede or Trailblazer, or the GMG Jim Bowie or Daniel Boone.

I think iam going to pull the trigger on a rec tec. I may just have to part ways from Traeger this weekend..
I wanted to have faith that something will be done but after talking again with my contact at Traeger theres nothing in sight for a fix. They are just keeping customers happy by sending out parts they know wont fix the issue...

I initially felt bad about leaving the Traeger "family", but my RecTec Stampede is an upgrade from the 575.

How long did it take for you to get yours once it shipped?
Traeger has to be pissed that customers are talking about other companies on their forums or they monitor or they just dont care...

Mine had to come all the way to the Pacific Northwest, but it was picked up by the shipper on 5/23 (I ordered from Amazon in order to get their financing, so there was about a two day lag from ordering to shipping) and it arrived at the local transfer station on 5/29. They then called for a delivery appointment and I received it on 5/31.
Actually this particular forum is not officially affiliated with Traeger, so I don't know if they even monitor it.

I actually liked the packages offered from RecTec better than the Amazon ones, particularly getting the sear kit. Otherwise, I think the pricing is essentially the same or maybe cheaper direct.
I was looking on Amazon too, but I think they only have the bundle and not just the grill. I believe the bundle on Amazon is different than the bundles offered directly from Rec Tec too. Is there a reason to go with the Rec Tec over the GMG? Just curious because I can pick up a GMG locally, but the Rec Tec I would have to order.

Yes, I only went with the Amazon bundle for secondary reasons. I would have preferred to do the ones offered by RecTec. I don't have any experience with GMG, so one just has to do some careful comparisons I guess. The customer support and warranty (4 years) from RecTec is outstanding but having to order one is admittedly a pain.
