I agree. It just seemed odd that the pictures were on FB feeds for a week prior to here. I searched here when I could because a web forum is much better than a FB thread in my opinion.

I can't speak for others, but I don't have any social media presence other than the forums I belong to so I only post what I find in the wild on the web.
I do appreciate those that share what they find on FB, Twitter, etc. on the forum with us so that anyone socially challenged on the web like me can benefit as well.

They are going to announce an accurate probe.

That would be nice. I have a timberline 1300 and the probe is a joke.

Yes, but the new probe will be available at around $3800

Is there any reason why Traeger couldn't implement the wireless meater probes into the existing app? Traeger charges over $2000 for the Timberline and only gives us one probe, but yet they sell the Meater + probes which require you use a separate app instead of incorporating the communication of that probe into the Traeger app.

Traeger just recently bought Meater so they had to redesign the app in order to incorporate them into one platform.

They should be able to add the meater functionality into the app for other Traeger grills. The app could show the temps regardless of which grill they are in. It doesn't involve the grill for that. You just wouldn't have the temp shown on the grill itself

They are putting this into a price range that won't help them with the average buyer. The buyers that may be able to assist with their falling stock value
At this price point it will need to shine beyond the branding of the Traeger name. A lot of other choices open up if you can afford this
This will be about $5,000 north of the border

I’d have to camp out indefinitely if I came home with this. I’d probably have better luck trying to bring home a new girlfriend.

The app is redesigned but I did not see anywhere for my app to add a thermometer. Can only add a grill.

I would have thought so…especially if they are bundled with the grill. But maybe not!

It would be a bad mistake if they dont and would hurt adoption if it wasn’t one homogeneous platform.

Maybe the app will change at noon today and meater support will just pop out from the background!

Based on the app release notes and and online leaks, it appears this meater support is only for the new grill which makes zero sense since the meater plus thermometer is wireless and independent of the grill itself. It could still be recognized by the same app for any grill the app currently supports.
