New Traeger Grill Announcement - Traeger Event scheduled for 3/30/22

After some further lengthy discussions with Traeger support, it appears the new (not yet released) Meater Probes will work with all Timberline and Ironwood series grills with full Traeger app integration. According to Traeger, this will only work with the newer Meater probes that come with the new Timberline XL grill. So apparently, once we're able to buy the newer Meater probes independently, we should be able to use them with the D2 controlled grills and manage the Meater probe temps via the Traeger app (not just the old Meater app).
I hope that is true. Seems like we're all getting different answers from Traeger support about the Meater probes.

It makes sense requiring new probes to function with existing grills. Thanks @srandall25 for the updated information. This sounds like a believable response about the meater probes.
It was stated in one of the new product videos that existing meater probes don't work with the grill, and will not pair.

That's good news. I would be interested in getting the induction stove stop and get it integrated if possible. That's the only addition I don't mind having.

This popped up on the Traeger site a few days ago:

Still says they'll only work with the new grills.

That’s correct. Best to buy the Meater Plus from the Meater website and just use with their app which is better anyway. The Meater app provides a graph and other features you don’t get with the Traeger app.

I'll wait it out a little longer to see if they figure out an integration. Wasn't really a fan of the Meater app (it's been a while since I've tried it so maybe it got better) or the cheap wooden box that runs everything.

The wooden box is actually what many are wishing Traeger used for the XL versus the cheap plastic one it now comes with.
