I cannot connect via Wifire. I have tried everything already. Now what?

Yes Im having the exact same issue after the update. It does not see any other wifi connections and I have a dedicated 2.4ghz it was connected to before and now that doesn't even work.
Make sure you can see the FORGET NETWORK option on the grill's menu. If it's not there, the update probably killed your controller. That's what happened to me. Once they sent me new controller, with no instructions, and I put it in I was back to normal and everything works again. I went through the same frustrations y'all are going through until someone at Traeger realized what the upgrade did.

Thank you Smokey - I tried that. Was able to delete app but I have not way to “forget” the network on the grill. The network right now on the grill is a “Traeger” network - not my home network. I cannot reset grill by going to “About Grill” and holding down “ignite” as suggested on the “Wizard.” Thanks for your help though. I really appreciate it.

Same problem. App says to try "forgetting" network in order to disconnect. Bu there is no "forgetting" on any of the menus on the grill screen. HELP....anyone?

I think if you hold the ignite button while you are in settings it may do a factory reset. Go to about grill in settings once there press and hold ignite I believe that is what I was told yesterday.

I went through the same frustrations y'all are going through until someone at Traeger realized what the upgrade did., if you don't see that option, your controller is probably fried from the software update. That's what happened to me. Once I received the new controller and reinstalled the initial setup all was good again. I'm smokin' again!

Picked up a Timberline 1300 yesterday, and fought all night last night to get the wi-fi connected. Same issues that everyone here talks about. Weak router signal, error provisioning, switching between home wi-fi and grill wi-fi, etc. etc. Round and round we went for hours, and just wouldn't connect. Read a tip from somewhere today, and the guy said to turn the wi-fi on your phone OFF, then try connecting to the grill. Bingo! First time, set to go. Your mileage may vary....

If you can get Traeger on the phone, have them delete your account, not just your grill.

Just got a Pro780 as a gift. Have spent all afternoon trying to connect to the wifi. My booster is within 20' of the grill. I ran signal strength checks where I was sitting the grill and they were coming up perfect. Go to connect the grill via IOS ap and it tells me weak signal. Now I'm on the phone with tech support again (was on with them for 45 minutes the first time). Frustrating.

If anyone has any tips, I'm all ears, please.

So long as the signal strength reported by App / Controller is in the Fair or better range, the setup/pairing process should be able to complete successfully ... do you have any specific errors / screen shots you can share?

What is the current version of Firmware & Config Version installed on the controller? Menu->Settings->About Grill

Since you said booster above, I am going to assume you have a Wi-Fi Extender ... can you provide the Make/Model #'s for your primary Router / Wireless Access Point, as well as any Wi-Fi Extenders? There may be some configuration tweaks that need to be made to make sure the App Device is connecting to the Wi-Fi Extender via the 2.4GHz radio (as well as the WiFIRE Controller itself) ...

After I put my password in for my wifi, it says the grill is connected. Then pops up saying weak signal.

Router is a TP Link TL-WR84 and so is the booster.

Tech support said its coming from my router, that its a mesh network. I guess I'll call the provider and try to switch routers.

As you all I can tell. I am not very technologically advanced.

To confirm - is this the router? https://www.tp-link.com/us/home-networking/wifi-router/tl-wr841n/#overview

If so, that model is not a Mesh Router, but a 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi 4 Router, so we would need more info on how the two of them are connected and configured ...

That is the router. I connected the booster to the router via the Tether ap.

Ok - which Range Extender on this page is the one you are using along with the Router? https://www.tp-link.com/us/home-networking/range-extender/

Within the Tether app, have you configured the Range Extender to broadcast out a separate SSID from the one broadcast via the Primary Router? That would be the recommendation to be able to "force" the App device to stay connected to the same 2.4GHz radio/SSID/network throughout the Setup/Pairing process as the WiFIRE Controller itself ...

First off, thanks for the help.

The extender is a 855RE.

Yes. It is putting out a separate SSID, not the original off the router.
