Sounds good. About to make some baked beans and will see how it is. May add some washers under the right hinges.Try it it, the seal might find its own happy place with some heat. Or tweak the lid as you suggest.
Here are some daytime photos, moving the lid side to side didn’t help. I initially thought it was the way it presses at the top so I made some different cuts.
You can see in the first photos that there is that gap, almost like I need to adjust the actual shape of the lid, on the left side and top it is fine.
Almost like it’s the shape of the lid...
@Slimpicker I thought I had replied... too many yellow jackets while making beans! Yes I think it must have been, there is a smoke stain on the right hand side where the smoke is still coming out. Wonder how I can fix this?So you are really not sure your lid wasn't that way before you put the gasket on, right?
Amazing, thank you @Slimpicker! I’ll give this a try tomorrow and will report back.Looks to me like your lid just needs to go straight back...

This should be done at the hinge... you can try loosening them and pushing your lid back while tightening them... or maybe make a shim that only fits under the FRONT half of the hinge causing it to raise up a little and back a little

Looks like it is just smoke, I think a magic eraser and some of the traeger should get it off...Is it just smoke or is the paint damaged ?, I fixed mine with "High Temp Automotive Paint" spray can as noted here on the Fourm...
