Gasket seal

I put my gasket on the body, felt facing up towards the lid. Everyone else seems to be putting it on the lid. Am I an idiot?

Just installed the lava lock today. Letting it cure overnight and gonna try again tomorrow. Trying to combat the temps a bit. The display temps are so out of wack compared to what my ambient probes are reading. Cheers to hoping

I plan to put a fiberglass gasket on it. Because that gasket is a bit thicker I have to attach some washers between the lid and the mounting bolt. Of course the bolt that holds the lid to the grill also has to be longer. Does anyone know what size that bolt is? That is the bolt that holds the lid to the hinge.

I put a gasket on my 780 pro a year or so ago and didn’t use anything to space it. Probably should have but it works just fine without. I also lay a concrete block on top of the handle to keep the smoke in longer. Works well.
