What's for dinner tonight? Dinner ideas?

My little 2.5lb Brisket was awesome!!! I didn't have high expectations but I'm driving back down to Aldis right now and getting a couple more!! Actually looked like it had a point and flat!!
Took 7 hours to cook correctly but it made for a great supper, and only $10 to boot!!! Who needs a chuckie when I can have this.
Wiggled like jello and squirted juice out!!!

I checked 2 Aldis in my area and neither carries these brisket. I’m so bummed…..

Short lived!! You gotta look for them in the flyer and pounce on them that week...
They get special things like this once a month so gotta be on the lookout.

We're having pulled pork. This is my first pork butt on my IW885.

Four hours in:

My wife said she wanted stuffed zucchini and garlic cream rice for dinner. Well I’m not about to turn on the oven so the traeger it goes. Actually turned out better than usual

I stocked up on Snake River Farms Wagyu London Broil at $7.99 a while back and vacuum packed them. Pulled one out yesterday to thaw and reversed seared it in the rain this evening. Gentle rain with no wind is perfect for the BBQ patio.

Rubbed in EVOO and dusted with Kosmos SPG. Turned out awesome!

Roast sliced and finished up nicely

For some reason my Traeger was tracking pretty close to the correct temp when set to 350 today. Normally it is 10-15° off what the FB reports, even at higher temps.

Made a Costco run, checked the meat section on the off chance of they might have any briskets, they haven't lately. Well, I was surprised to see a few prime packers, $3.89/lb! Snapped up a 15 pounder.

Brisket #9, rubbed with the Holy Duo and on my grill at 6:30p

Looking for more smoke ring on this one. I trimmed the fat side very thin, rubbed and back in the fridge for a couple days hours, then straight to the grill, fat side up, smoked at 180ish overnight until 165. Then foil wrap.

Fireboard board live;
Brisket #9 Sun Aug 15

End results? Pretty much perfect!!

Ok, this new one happily surprised me.
I planned mustard/vinegar/Agave-sauced thighs and on a whim added thick-cut sweet potato (or yams…the WinCo boxes don’t identify) slices, brushed with EVOO and sprinkled with TR —> Blackend Saskatchewan Rub. I usually bake the “coins” in a 475*F oven, but with the temps recently too high here for ovening (don’t laugh, when temps hit 80* around here, us lived-here-forever locals consider it approaching Hell-Temp!😎).
275* with a couple of painted squirts of sauce on the thighs, upping temp to 350* for the last 30 minutes.
Dipped the SP coins in a mix of Mayo/Sriracha/minced garlic/lemon juice/S&P.
Traeger’d [Sweet Potato/Yams]…who woulda thunk it? Not I, by golly! 😂

Apologies because this wasn’t cooked in the Traeger although you could easily do it there.

Melted about half a tablespoon of butter and added minced garlic and shredded parmigiana and a wee bit of salt to make a paste.

Spread it over the salmon and sprinkled some cracked pepper and a light dusting of the new Bearded Butcher Butter rub.

Cooked skin down mostly over indirect heat in the Weber Kettle and moved over the coals for the last few mins. Cooked to about 145.

Damn this was good. For those who don’t like the fishy taste of salmon, the cheese and spices really masked that and the crust (texture) was amazing.

Steak taco salad with avocado desssing pulled from Traeger recipes and slightly modified. Used filets and cooked them around 225 degrees until 130 or so then cranked up the heat on gasser. Cooked a little more done that usual as I was using for salads. Didn’t get a precut picture sorry.
