Traeger BBQ100 Roll-Top
Wanted to show everyone my Traeger BBQ100 Roll-top restoration that went pretty successfully. Scroll down through the images to see it from the barn the grill sat in for many years to the full restored images at the end.

I need some help determining what is the best PID controller to upgrade this to. Is there a plug and play option that allows it to linked to Wi-Fi?

Wow! Nicely done!

Excellent job but those manual lighting instructions.... 😲😲
Yeah you gotta find something to retrofit that thing.
It has only 2 feed settings?

Did you upgrade it to have a drip tray in it vs lava rocks? It looks like there is a lip in there to hold a drip tray. I am hoping to do that modification to mine and looking for pointers.

This model already had the heat deflector and drip tray. Something that I have learned researching Traeger history is that there were many different versions of the BBQ100 but they never changed the model number. This version was made in 2001 which is closer to the end when they sold out the company in 2006.

It has an auto light feature as well, see the first section of the instructions. It has a smoke, medium, and high setting. Smoke is around 150 in summer and 125 in winter. Medium is around 300 in the summer and 250-275 in the winter. High gets the temp up to 400 in the summer and around 375 in the winter. I have not upgraded the controller yet but there are options out there as it has the same connectors as the newer Traeger grills. I am really looking for a way to upgrade it to WiFi capable but nothing that is plug and play has came out yet. I did find one on Amazon that has WiFi but its a trick because that control board did not have a smoke setting, just temperature control.
