Pro 575 Not Achieving Temperatures

Is that 01.01.04?
I just did the seasoning today. The temp stalled out well below 450 and took forever, like 40 minutes to get to 325. I screwed down the vent cap to reduce the amount of heat loss and the temp came right up to 450 quickly. At one point it went as high as 460 and the cheap oven thermometer I was using showed 470* on the left side of the grill near the vent which is typically the hot side. You might try playing with the vent cap, it could be a solution.

I'm new here but I owned a pro22 for 2 years before buying the Pro 575 just recently (will arrive in 2 days). Can you tell me how to check the firmware?

In the app under settings or on the grill go into menu and then select about grill.
01.01.06 is the latest.

New member here! 575 Pro, and my FW version is 2.00.02 Although I was initially concerned about the temp consistency below 200f, once the gill is warmed up, it seems to be +/- 8° . I guess that’s all I can hope for?

I'd say so, it's a lot better than my kitchen oven does.

hey everyone, new to the Traeger world, obviously having the same issues or I wouldn’t be here.

just picked mine up today, did the burn in, and I noticed the same issues everyone else was talking about more or less. Running Software 01.00.10 as of today’s date, haven’t done any updates of anything, we were starving so right after the shutdown Cycle I kicked it back on to reverse sear some ribeyes. During the burn in I noticed as it his 350, itwould dip back down to like 280, Then back up to 265! More or less the same at 450, it would dip low mostly, about 10 degrees. Currently speaking about 25 minutes into a 225 degree start before I kick it up to max to reverse sear, I’m noticing only about a 7 degree dip, maybe a 5 degree increase but otherwise stable. Is this normal?

I’m hoping the burn in was just the Traeger getting calibrated so to speak, I really want to love it after seeing it all the time at the hardware store and John Dudley/Rogan cooking constantly on it (pretty new to archery as well, this “quarantine” business had me needing a cheaper hobby to do at home as opposed to long range precision rifle shooting).

Ok try and get the Traeger connected to WIFI and 2.4Ghz then let it sit and see if it updates for you. In my case I went into the menu to look for the software ver. and up popped "software updating"
When you get all that done make sure you calibrate the probe, mine was 13F low, instructions are in the menu under probe.
With the latest software I do not get big temp swings but hey 5-10 is normal.
The last bit of advice today is to always clean the inside after each use, I get a vac and suck up all the ash around and iNSIDE the burner. When cleaning give the thermostat a soft clean as well, enjoy.
Attached is a pic of my beef ribs at start , turned out fantastic.

Thanks! Yeah my steaks turned out pretty okay despite the ranging temps! Took a bit longer than expected though, I was told 45 min to an hour for the 225 degree slow cook before the reverse sear to let it get to 120, it ended up being maybe an hour and a half, and the temp seemed to stop climbing on the probe between 113-114, I pulled them and boosted the temp to 450 for the reverse sear and it hit 130 after the 3 min per side sear!

This thread has been eye opening as I have been struggling with cook times since I got the grill. I will do some temp testing later.

My firmware is 02.00.01. Will it update automatically or can I force?

Per Traeger Support, the WiFIRE Controller does a check-in at Power On to the Traeger Cloud back-end ... if the Traeger Cloud back-end recognizes the Grill UUID value as in need of a Firmware and/or Config version update, it will begin PUSH'ing down the appropriate files in a few minutes (WiFIRE Controller display will show "Downloading Files") ... if this does not happen, your Grill UUID value is not being recognized as needing any updates (potential need for data scrub of Grill UUID value in Traeger Cloud?), or your Grill UUID value has been flagged as susceptible to Firmware corruption ... The now-delayed May Update was supposed to rectify these kinds of issues, but due to QA/QC concerns, it has been delayed into June with no known ETA at this time ... at some point, also unknown, the ability to PULL updates (i.e. end user invoked) down from the Traeger Cloud back-end will be offered through the App (via an update) ...

Essentially - all of us running 2.00.01 and earlier are awaiting resolution ... remember that "new features" are actually part of the Config version file, so that has to be up-to-date as well (i.e. the ability to select 500 degrees being the latest feature) ...
