Outdoor Kitchen Build

Man, winter Wonderland! Fun for a bit I guess. My daughter in Seattle was also buried in snow this weekend.

A buddy sent this for a chuckle;

So far. Austin is doing rolling blackouts due to high energy consumption. Got plenty of wood as a backup. No worry about the beer getting warm though.
I believe their idea of “rolling” is one day at a time. Daughter woke up to a freezing apartment, it’s 49 in there now, and probably won’t have power until tomorrow, at least!

At least her windows all face into the sun. She just met a lady who is in the shape and it’s in the 30’s inside her place!

LOL. Basically sums up the green movement and the fact that we can never really get rid of fossil fuels. Wait until we get into the infrastructure requirements for electric vehicle charging in communities. Some studies have shown that most neighborhoods have the capacity for 3 charging stations per street.

True, I'm an electronics guy, have solar, natural gas backup gen, and a Tesla, wired the charging myself. These baby's draw 32A on the low end, that's a LOT of power. Electric is great but not so much in snow. The US is maybe 1% electric, we aren't ready yet. It's going to take next gen nuclear, plus a blend of everything else.
But I digress.

BTW, what's that?

They run on primarily diesel, but will run on regular gasoline with some added oil to lubricate the IP (about 1qt for every 5-10 gallons). Other known fuels that it will run on are: kerosene, jet fuel, used motor oil, transmission fluid, hydrolic fluid, and veggie oil.😁

The weather here in Austin is finally back to normal and the walnut butcher block counter top is place. Power to the fridge & ice maker done. Sink installed. Doors are getting done. They will be clad with the same wood as on the back wall. Still gotta connect water to the ice maker (after a filter is installed), but it is finally coming together. I have to say, that old cast iron sink looks pretty good.
