I cannot connect via Wifire. I have tried everything already. Now what?

In my experience the router with both 2.4 and 5 GHz combine those bands to deliver WiFi. This gives good throughput for heavy data tasks but it is an overkill for IOT devices. They also have limited range.

Just try the method I suggested. What do you have to lose?

I am going to. I am pretty sure kept my old router when I bought my new nighthawk. I all ready have a net cable ran to my living room for my TV so I will just plug it in there.

I cannot connect to my grill. Anyone else having this issue? I am on hold with Treager right now. When I called, it says to put the grill in standby mode for 24 hours. But I have no idea what standby mode is. So...I am call #23. Talk about frustrating. I cannot even wait for a call back since I am calling from Germany. Ugh.

Really Treager? WTF?
I had similar problems and after many chats with Traeger found the ONLY solution was to put the 575 d2 pro within in 6 feet of the router. Afer that ...... NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. Cannot explain why but it worked ... twice! Good luck. It will connect further afield later but NOT initially.

That sounds like a no antenna problem. Nothing should have to be 6 ft away. I wonder where the antenna is on this grill and how hard it is to get to.

I can not find my old router so I must have thrown it away. I did go into my router and disabled the 5 GHz and tried several more tries. Still not connecting. Just got a wifi thermometer and it connected right up.

Well, it could be the WiFi receiver on your Traeger that is the problem. But ask your friends if anyone has an old router you could borrow. I always have some old ones lying around.

Have you tried turning the grill around. so it's facing forward to the router? Apparently this helps with the bad reception.

Same issue. Contemplating returning it to the store and getting a refund.

I am so frustrated with Traeger I wish I had never bought it. I've had to change my password to access the web site but nothing works to let me access the wifire on the unit. And of course there's no online help at all, you have to call and stand in line behind at least 25-50 other people. Worst product I've ever encountered for service. One day I was connected, the next day I don't exist. And I specifically bought it for the wifire. What a joke!
I'm wishing the same!!! Wonder if the other brands have such sorry technology?

I think I could get mine going but my software is apparently too old for me to be able to delete I.P. address and start over. I can't do any updates until I can hook to the wifi! I knew I should have bought the Grilla!

I couldn't connect with my pixel 6 pro at all. I decided to try my wife's phone which is a pixel 3 XL and it connected right up. Once connected my pixel 6 works now. So if you have another phone you can try, it may work. Can't hurt to try.

If you can describe your WiFi setup we may be able to offer some suggestions. Traegers (like most IoT devices) require a 2.4 GHz network.

My issue is the grill hooked to my phone instead of my wifi router. Following the steps to reset the grill so I can start over is not working. Trouble shooting it I did discover there are some updates for my software, (for the grill) but until I can get hooked to wifi, I can't get the updates. I finally got the reset to work late last night. (hold in the ignite button), the display went off and Traeger logo appeared, but when I check the wifi information, it showed the grill was still synced up to my phone. I chatted with a technical help person last night for a minute and they said there is a procedure to clear all of that, but I didn't have time to do it last night. My thoughts are, better directions to sync it up to start with and a little smarter software would have avoided all of this. I have other wifi devices in the house, never had this much problem syncing up. I am aware of the 2.4. issue. My router is Linksys and and has both 2.4. and 5MHz. I verified on my phone both are enabled and I can sync up to either one.

This is just a suggestion. Try giving 2.4 and 5 GHz networks different names. As others have said, the initial connection is sometimes finicky, but once done it will stay connected.
