WiFIRE Status Page has been updated (2020-05-20)

I randomly got the latest firmware and config on my 650 yesterday. I didn't get the update when it was released even though I've used it a few times. What's weird is I didn't get it in standby but got the updates when plugging in and powering on. I think Traeger staggers their updates maybe to avoid any mass issues.

The May Update release went live on May 19th-20th ... any WiFIRE Controllers powered off at that time would more than likely pick up the Firmware update (Step 1) at their next power on (downloading usually starts a few minutes after it is turned on) ... once the Firmware update is installed and "live" on the WiFIRE Controller, the Config Version should follow within 12-24 Hours (Step 2 ... you need to leave WiFIRE powered on) ... once you have both updates, you can go back to powering on/off as you wish ...
 
I was finally able to get my grill connected to the WiFi. It did the update almost immediately. I am now showing the firmware version of 03.00.01 Everything I see shows that it should be 02.01.01 I am not certain what my config version is at this time.

Are you a Timberline Gen 1/AC model? I believe that should be on 3.00.01.

Ii must be? I purchased it used. It had only been used half a dozen times. The family did not like smoked foods so they decided to sell after it sat in the garage for a year.
 
My PRO 780 has been on for well over a week ... just power cycled it ... and nothing is downloading ... will give it til tomorrow ... then calling into support again ...

Traeger Support starts at 6AM Mountain Time - best to call in ASAP in the AM and ask for a callback to your cell - the usually only callback once per request, so you'll need to monitor and take the call when it comes in ...

I've never been able to call at 6, only right at 7 and it says wait time is under 2 mins (typically 2-20 mins max).

10AM Mountain is an odd time to start taking calls for a Corporate Office - I've always wondered if those hours are really Eastern Time, making Corp HQ available from 7AM-4PM Mountain ... and since they don't list the time zone like the do in your email, and in the Service & Warranty webpage I referenced, it is open to interpretation ...

Ya, that is an odd time, but is only open Monday-Friday as well, so is true corporate HQ. They are in the MST time zone, so I am guessing that is MST. Also 10 am EST is 8 am MST.

Right ... so 8AM - 5PM ... I am in the Pacific time zone and typed in the wrong info even though I was thinking Mountain ... :) ... next time I speak with Support, I will get clarification on the Corp HQ Office Hours to see if those listed are actual Mountain times ... answering calls up to 6PM is not normal for any Corp HQ Office ...
 
I’ve had zero problems with updates and connectivity with my IW885 ... same SSID on both freqs, it just seems to work. It has since December. I’d rather be lucky than good I guess.
