What's cooking today? 🔥 Pics are necessary!

Wife and daughter wanted oven roasted turkey so for a little variety, I grilled filet mignon on the IW and reverse seared on the flat top. Topped with herb butter

I fried a couple of turkeys and smashed some burgers over the last week, but failed to get a picture. I did smoke the MC pecan cobbler yesterday in my Traeger and got a picture…..and it turned out really good (even if I did forget the vanilla).

I have a habit of forgetting the vanilla extract when I’m cooking certain things. It’s like I’m concentrating on the main ingredients and it’s in the oven before I realize. But a couple scoops vanilla ice cream will take care of it. Looks delicious

Random. My wife thought it was going to be a pie…..after a first few scoops we swapped to a spoon.

Yes - was great with vanilla ice cream. A definite must.

Smoking the filets on the Traeger and then reverse searing them on a flat top griddle is a great way to do it. Your photo is proof! Well done.

Your family missed out on some smoky goodness by roasting the turkey in the oven, however.

Sometimes you can't beat the aroma of a turkey filling the house with good thanksgiving smell.

Thanks. They were great. Unfortunately for me wife doesn't enjoy smoked turkey so I did the next best thing😋

Oh well.

Turkey has such little flavor on its own that it needs something extra. After roasting turkeys in the oven for 49 years, I was glad when I had an alternative.
