Ironwood 885
I am a new Traeger owner, but not new to smoking. Can I fit two turkeys to smoke on an Ironwood 885? What would be the max size of those two turkeys? 14lbs each good?

Thank you,

What I would do is to take a tape measure to the store and measure a 14 pound turkey. If two will fit your in luck. One thing to think about is, are there two temp probes, one for each turkey. I assume that you will remove the top rack and do both on the bottom one. I only do one large turkey and I use a "Turkey Done Right" holder that suspends the turkey, breast side down and a temp probe in the thicker part of the thigh. I have had great results with this set up and the breast meat stays moist. I set the rack in a tin foil flat pan with liquid in it to provide moisture to the cook and catch the drippings. Thanks for joining the form, I am sure you will get some good info from our members.

I think two 14s would be good. I loaded down my 575 a few years back with a 20 pounder and a few breasts. Tight, but it worked. The 885 is larger than my 575. Let me try and find a picture.

Here.

For future information, two 13lb birds fit with enormous room to spare. I’m guessing one could fit up to two 18lbs at least without coming close to space limitations.

The IW885 is plenty large. It is really larger than I need for my wife and I, but I like having extra room to accommodate side dishes. As long as people have room for it on their deck or patio, I would always recommend the larger grill, if the bank balance will allow.
