I have TBL 850. I set the temp for 405, went to 415. FB at 388. Then raised temp to 415 went to 425. FB at 398.
I thought the traeger RD would be lower then FB. Any one seeing the same? which is true temp?

My FB probe is next to the Traeger probe (Pro 780) and Traeger is always 20 to 30 degrees higher when I am greater than 225 degrees. It's pretty close for temps below that.

Some grills are higher others are lower. Trust in the FB that what you paid big$ for.

Edit: When I set my Traeger to 500f the FireBoard reads 450f.

Seeing the same here. Gets above 250 Treager reading higher FB lower. will be trusting FB.

I've read where some people have said it's kinda off by a percentage.......so that's why it's closer at the lower temps and further off higher ones. But idk. I suspect they are all different as they are so cheap.

My InkBird typically shows about 15-20 higher than the Traeger reading at most temps, but I do most of y cooks at < 250 other than something like pizza on a stone where not really concerned about the temp as much :)

So if I want to do a cook at 225, I'll usually set the Traeger to 200. The "benefit?" of this is that I can have an actual temp of 250 and still keep Super Smoke on since the grill thinks it's only 225 :)!!!
