Sous vide

That's the paint lid or paint bucket and lid combo? I'll have to loo that up...
It was near the paint section, but clearly labeled as "Food Grade"

I use these buckets and lids to store my pellets in. looking at the lids I thought OMG that looks like the perfect size for my sous vide stick..... quick measurement and it turns out it was! the piece I cut out was a spout( twist open) of some sort that was enclosed in clear silicon and fused to the lip of the lid, which my Anova is sitting perfectly on.

Well, I bought one. I got the Inkbird like Picker got, $60 with coupon. Will be here tomorrow. Busy weekend coming up so might have to wait n try it out later. Or reheat frozen stuff Sunday! 😁

Good for you Timmy, that's awesome.
I went ahead and got myself one of those square clear containers like RemE posted his corned beef in.... no lid yet but Inkbird fits in it PERFECT

Not SURE this is the best container tho...

I will probably get something like that, but for now I have a couple stock pots I'll use to see how it works.

Thanks!

That one looks perfect with that adjustable holding grate.
You'll need something bigger if you ever want to try full racks of ribs, a large brisket, a turkey, or tomahawks. Check these out:

Just have to drill a hole in the lid that matches the size of your Sous Vide cooker. They do also make a larger size (it's just deeper) that uses the same exact lid. So if you grab one of each, just drill one lid and you can still use the other lid for regular cooler use on either cooler.

Gee you guys sure help me spend my money....
Just ordered a 1000 watt Inkbird for $85.00. Amazon.ca had a $35 off coupon and free delivery, how could I resist

I did grab one of these for resting briskets and transporting them in a more compact box. I don't think I'll ever Sous Vide a brisket as it's all about that smoke!

That said, if needed, I can always drill the lid and get a rubber plug.

That's exactly what I was thinking of getting it for, resting or transporting briskets or pork butts. I wind up with few smoked smelling towels with the cooler I am using now.

Yup, perfect size for a brisket and towel, much easier to store and grab than a cooler.

Another Sous Vide item you can make... esp if you hate giving Starbucks your money. Sous Vide Egg Bites are pretty fantastic (and expensive at $tarbucks). Use small Mason Jars or pick up a sous vide egg bite mold at Amazon and you can make these slightly faster than your teenagers can eat them.... Now how on earth do I get the grill involved?
