This might be wishful thinking, but has anybody ever tried modifying the smokestack where you actually block off part of the inside of the hole to Maybe get more smoke flavor? I know nothing compared to some of you guys with these grills but I was just cleaning my pro 575 the other day and wondered if I covered part of it with a piece of aluminum foil or something to keep more smoke in the grill longer maybe would give more smoke flavor?

Wow thanks Rusty. Guess I'll just leave it alone Doing 2 briskets overnight and don't want to ruin them.

2 smoke tubes with my last overnight brisket and my flavor and bark was just fine

That's exactly what I do and get the same results. Just thought maybe restricting the stack a little may do better than the smoke tubes.

Not sure if anyone has tried the downdraft made by Godke. It has a variable damper as well as redirecting the intake down to the grill level, similar to some of the high end stick burners exhaust.

Supposed to help with smoke, temperature consistency and pellet consumption
