Old Traeger
I scored an older Traeger (model?) for $100 in the neighborhood and noticed that all my cooks were finishing quicker than I expected. They were turning out great, just fast. When I got my ThermoWorks RFX, I was able to track my actual smoker temps and they were high and swinging wildly. At the 225 setting, for example, it was moving between 240-260. I couldn't do a low and slow if I wanted to, haha. After reading up on it, I thought the temp detector/probe might be the issue, so I picked up one on Amazon for $10 and that did the trick! Since my burn pot was rusted I picked up one of those too. Any help identifying the model would be appreciated! Oh, and I added a Smoke Daddy to punch up the smoke flavor.

The model # should be on a paper sticker on inside the hopper lid, if the previous owner didn't remove it. Glad you got it working, now you can use some of the good info from this site for some good smokes. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks, no stickers though. I haven't found any identifying model info on it. I thought someone might know by the look of it.
