Hey @JamesB , do you know the difference between Fireboard 2 vs Fireboard 2 Drive vs Fireboard 2 Pro? I want to take a 1 shot of buying the best one since it will be a one time investment. I like having as many probes as possible since I like to monitor everything I can.

Then you need the Fireboard 2, not pro or Drive (unless you plan on using the Drive on different smoker.)

FireBoard II is their basic unit
FireBoard drive is equipped to control an external fan.
FireBoard Pro uses thermocouple probes instead of thermistor, and only has three probe ports.

BTW, in case anyone forgets or didn't know, you can ask which probes you want when you place your order, ask for competition probes and they will give them to you!! YOU GUYS NEED TO CALL THEM AND REQUEST IT.

also, probes are only $15, just get extras, they will last for years, it's not like they wear out

Give them a call, they might go ahead and send them anyway. They are really great people to deal with. Definitely worth a phone call for two free comp probes.
If you don’t already have any, get the short comp probes.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, you ordered yours a few days before I did. At any rate, they told me no as well.

FireBoard began as a new startup and their early personal customer service probably reflected that. They are now an established company which means any giveaways or customizing is gone. The price of success!

I end up getting the drive since I still have my 18inch charcoal grill. Going to order the drive blower and ball valve adapter and get an additional 2 free probes
