FedEx and Home Depot screwed me: UPDATE!!!!

Quick question for you. How long from your purchase date before you received your Traeger? I bought mine from HD on 9/3 and the estimated arrival is between 9/18 - 9/29. Seems like a long time for what I assume is a factory direct shipment.

But Traeger is coming to my rescue...

My Home Depot bought 575 got delivered today by FedEx like this:

Very long story about Home Depot not coming to my rescue, no exchange, and WEEKS waiting for a replacement and money back...

Called Traeger.... didn't ask anything but my name and address and is sending me a NEW DRUM and lid....

Does anyone know how to completely replace a drum???
I'm gonna be a Traeger Expert once I'm done totally rebuilding this... it's OK, My first trade was a journeyman machinist... I think I can catch on.
I just don't wanna damage that PROBE!!!!

Had to ORDER mine only because Home Depot was selling them like MAD, went in one week of maybe 20 available in various stores to NOTHING BUT ORDER ONLINE... (I waited one day too long)
Mine took 5 days, BUT that was August 21 ordered and 26 delivered....
Mean time, they are still flying off the shelves at all my STL MO Home Depots... (that is why I didn't take mine BACK to Home Depot because they don't have any I can buy!!!! I'd have to ORDER ONE anyway from Traeger) to answer @GrillMeister


AND Right now, YES, Traeger is taking up to 2-3 weeks for delivery, it's a '5 day processing' and '2 week deliver'. (I was told)

UPDATE:
I simply would load it up in the truck and return it to home depot for a full refund.

YEAH, I took it BACK to HD... but only after I found a new place to but one from, https://www.abt.com/
They have 'fresh' ones sent from Traeger to them during August... I got $50 OFF for a Labor Day special, FREE SHIPPING, I put it on an ABT CARD interest free for 12 months... and it gets to me, delivered into my front door in as little as 5 working days!! Only coming from Chicago to STL... AND I was able to choose the Bronze 575 which I really wanted in the first place.

So now my trust is in them and let's see if they keep their word and UPS is more careful with my package!!!

I'm so disgusted I don't know what end is up....

Called Traeger to find out where my DRUM REPLACEMENT is... Simple right??? NO!!!!!!!!!
NO sign of me even being alive let alone having a replacement part sent to me!!!
1 hour on the phone, Traeger's answer is now, WHOLE NEW SMOKER... WHY???!!!! Just send me a %$#&ing DRUM DAMMIT.... "we can't"
Then why did the first guy say you could!!!

Anywhere from 2-3 weeks for my next DENTED grill to get here!!!!

Wife got on the phone and things got serious then... I had to grab the phone back before the whole deal went out the window!!!!
Thought you were going WAY to smooth for Traeger. Waiting for a fan and thermocouple for my 850. July 11th and have had maybe 5 cooks on it. Errrrrrrrrrr.
 
So I got my new one delivered today, no problems. Delivery guy still thought it was okay to put this unit on it's end... WHY DOESN'T Traeger designate this on the BOX!!!!

I got it in it's new home, I'm just gonna plug it in and APP it for now... wait a day or 2 till it updates fully, meanwhile I'll work on a few MODs then maybe a Sunday fire-up.

On a Marble slab, got a deflector behind it with Lavarock strip behind that to protect the railing...

OH and I forgot something... Yesterday afternoon I finally got a CALL from the company who was suppose to pick up my OLD DENTED one I already took back... Traeger would not send me a NEW one till the PICK UP company picked mine up... They called one day before I got this one delivered to only Schedule the pick up... It would have been WEEKS still before Traeger sent my new one...

Mine was sent to me via a freight service (Estes). They, in turn have shipped to a deliverer of smaller items and will get here tomorrow night. My fingers are crossed...ha. Hope your second experience is much better. I’ve already ordered a few Timberline 850 modifications, so will stay with the T850 regardless.
 
I'm READY to go... but I ain't touchin this thing till that config reads .016
I gotta go work tomorrow but I hope it updates by Sunday so I can try something for Sunday supper.
 
This is the very reason I waited and didn't buy one from online. I don't trust the way people handle packages of that size. When you spend that amount of money on something, you want it to be handled with kid gloves.

I feel you pain though.... had mine about a week and STILL haven't been able to cook on it yet. At least I've had time to season it. lol.
 
Don't forget to 'burn it in'.

I really didn't even wanna do that till it updated... I'll do it tomorrow during the day if I don't have an update by then... then I just won't do a cook till it does...
