when its cold that the screen doesn't register I just turn the dial up a couple notches nd hit ignite. the screen comes to life when it warms up with the grill. I smoked in -39c wind chill last winter, screen works just fine during and after.

Wouldn't the APP tell you what the screen doesn't show anyway???
