I just replaced the thermocouple on my Pro780. The instructional video on YouTube is very good, and it is pretty straight-forward.

The problem: you have to unplug everything from the controller PCB to remove the controller. When I did so, one of the cables came off whatever it was plugged in to on the device. The black cable that goes in connector P7. It is a bit over a foot long. It has an 8 pin connector on the board and a 4 pin connector to the client.

I can not find the corresponding 4 pin connector on my grill. So I can not find what to connect it back in to. Does anyone know? Is the grill OK to use in the meantime?

Photos attached - Thanks!

It might be for the optional pellet sensor.

It looks like the black plug goes to the board and the white plug goes to the sensor.

Yes that’s exactly what that plug is for. I had to do the same thing. I also have the Pro 780 and that is for the pellet sensor. It does not get plugged in to anything as we do not have a pellet sensors on the 780. Just stick it back in the little black rubber grommet in top left corner and let it hang out in there. No harm no foul.

Thanks @Timmy and @Mimi . I've grilled twice so far since, and no problems. I did a test firing first, and when nothing went wrong, I guessed what you've said. A great relief to have it confirmed. Merry Christmas!
