Vacuum for Ashes

I have a stinger. I’ve never replaced my filter and dust does go back out into the air but I don’t really care.
I think if I had it to do over again I’d look at the little battery vacs like ryobi just to ditch the cord.

It should be fine. Worse that could happen is the filter will clog. I just took my filter out, I point the exhaust away from me and let it blow the fine dust out. Hasn’t hurt anything in many years now.

Like @RayClem I've been using an inexpensive 35 year old Craftsman shop-vac to clean my Pro780 for three years, no problem. From this and other messages, I think forum consensus is to not invest heavily for this issue.
