should be fine. just confirm the temp it is indicating, is confirmed with an open thermometer.I banged the tip of the thermocouple while cleaning my Pro780 this afternoon. The tip/"nose-cone" cover came off, but the sensor/wire seem OK (see photo). I've ordered a replacement already, but is it safe to use one more time, i.e., this evening? We have tenderloin medallions ready to go, and it would be a crime to broil them , they must be cooked on a grill.
What do you think? OK to use one last time?
(PS My neighbor's Traeger is ready as a back-up).

I made a guard fir mine, right after I bought it. The lack of the guard to protect the sensor, is a good way to sell replacement sensors. It's my opinion, that Traeger should supply a new sensor, with a guard for free
