uneven temperature

HI there!

I am getting ready to season my Flatrock for the first time. After about 20 minutes on High, I am measuring about 398F on the left side, 440F in the center, and 465F on the right. I am using a Thermoworks infrared temp gun.

I assume this is not normal - what are some of the common things that can cause this?

Where the gas enters each U-burner there is an air shutter slider for adjusting air/gas mixture. You might need to remove the knobs and front panel to get at the shutter.
