Pro Series 22
My grill will not get any hotter than 150 degrees. I have a Pro Series 22. So I contacted Traeger twice now. The first lady had me buy a new augur motor/fan. Shame on me, I should have known that this would not fix the issue. I replaced it anyways. The second call, the guy seemed pretty good. We did a video chat for about 2-3 hours. He had me take apart and test a lot. Still couldn't fix, so he recommended I replace both the Firestick (Hot Rod) and the Thermostat (RTD Temperature Probe). I did both of those today. Again, fires up ok, but doesn't get over 150 degrees. I ordered a Fire Pot even though mine looks perfectly fine. This is getting frustrating. Side note, I clean my grill religiously after every 5-6 cooks. Anybody else run into this issue ?

Any thoughts, recommendations, solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Why didn't they just send a whole new controller??

Well, makes more sense since the CONTROLLER controls all those other parts you already replaced.
baffles me kinda why they didn't do that at first... lots of guys here have had controllers replaced with even more minor issues than yours.

Thank you for the info. I'll ask them. I guess that'll just get added to the expense account...LOL

WELL, that should be free unless you're out of warranty

Yeah, out of Warranty. Looking to upgrade but still want to keep this one around. So we'll see if I can get it discounted since they made me buy every other part...lol

exactly!!!!

BTW, I started with the 22, but I wanted the WiFire D2 controller, so I went to the 575. A lot better control

OH, and I'm not trying to spend your $$$ for you, I just wish they would have done the controller first. I'd give it to you by now if I were CS

Yeah, the 575 looks nice. I'm looking also for a bit more space. Maybe the 780. Also getting the Traeger Ranger for when I go camping.

Feast Master Timmy has the 780, it's plenty of room, I agree.

Well my confidence in Traeger Support is still positive. I went on the website and did the support chat. They of course have a record of all my previous calls including the video chat. The guy was very cool. He stated exactly what you said about the controller. He said most likely the controller is bad and the auger timing for distributing pellets to the pot is not working. Since I bought all the other replacement parts, he's sending me this one at no charge. So very cool. Thanks for your reminder to me about the controller.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like my 780, paired with( in my case a FireBoard) 3rd party thermometer you can cook a ton of stuff at one time. I got the Bronson 20 for camping. It’s a little bigger unit then the ranger but 2 ppl can load it very easily.
