After getting my Pro780 a couple of Christmas’s ago, I haven’t touched my wood burning smoker but one time and forgot how much tending it needed. So instead of letting it sit and not be used, I decided to bring it into the 21st century.
Thanks to a member on here, I got a Pro 575 hopper assembly from him. Basically brand new, except it was so old it wouldn’t connect to Traegers WiFi cloud. Had to get a new controller that was up to date. (Found a good deal on eBay).
I’ve only had a chance to do one cook on it so far but it worked pretty good. I got some playing to do with heat deflector, stack damper, etc. I also plan on mounting the controller on the front side somehow. It’s a work in progress but I thought I would share.
