Timberline 850 gets a Covid project, Folding Shelf, on Steroids!

Great idea. My folding brackets arrived on Sunday. My first shelf will be made with a 12' x 24" Aluminum tread plate. if I don't like the tread plate, I will then migrate to a hardwood table top.
Here is a picture of the finished product. I am very happy with how it came out. i used 0.073 thick tread. The aluminum angle around the perimeter provided finish and strength. Thank you @RemE for the idea and inspiration.

That is really a great shelf.... but unless I am mistaken, that is not a picture of a timberline....

What kind of bracket did you use for the Gas Struts? Could you provide a link to that? I am new to wood working and building stuff. But the pandemic has me learning. I just bought a live edge piece of wood to make my shelf!

How did you connect the shelf to the legs?
I wanted my shelf's front edge to project freely between the front legs. To support this little cantilever, I made the rear portion fit tightly between the side supports. Then I used one screw on the bottom, each side.

I finally "finished" mine. For some reason I only bought 4 long bolts and I bend 1 so I need to fix that.

I do need to make a piece for in front of the controller so it is the same height and seal the wood. Might add a few angle pieces to strengthen the aluminum plate that the brackets and struts mount to.

But at least for now the shelf is useful.
