Smoke Tube?

I bought these and "might" throw a few in my tube next time, they are pretty small and they smell AMAZING!!!

Think I'll make a mix of 3-1 pellets to these... keep in a separate bucket air tight (they are almost the same size as the pellets are)

Those look interesting, keep us informed.

So, I filled my new smoke tube 3/4 full of apple chips, lit it put it in the grill and noticed it burnt out in about 2 hours. Do you guys mix pellets and chips? Do I have to pack it tighter? Or is that just the way it is?
ive filled it with chips, just make sure its really lit before leaving in place. I light mine with my Gas grill side burner.

I got my pellet/chip mix ready to go:

And I did a little "Timmy curly cue tweak" to my Ambient probe:

I purchased a little 6" Amazingsmoke tube a while back and used it on a tri tip cook. When you cook at low and slow temps the smoke the trager puts out is IMO fine. However, you don't get much of a smoke profile when you go to moderate or higher heat cooks. When I did the Tri Tip I brought it up to 115 deg with a cooking temp of 300, Then I threw it on my gasser at 500 deg for a quick sear and pulled it at 125 and gave it a rest. I served the tri tip at 130 a nice medium rare. Very tender with a nice and smokey essence from an almost brainless and very minimal effort cook.
