I added my grill to my Alexa, it shows up as a paired device, but Alexa will not interact, e.g., will not show data (temperature, probe, timer) that show up on the Traeger app.

If all of the Canadian Traefer users placed an inquiry with alex, we may get this skill in Canada, sooner than laterAh ... found it on Amazon.com but it doesn't seem to be available to the Canadian skillset of Alexa, thanks
User name checks out. lolTalked with support via chat and over the phone, unfortunately neither avenue provided any clarity. They don't know when the Alexa skill might be available in Canada and no one has a clue what an API is so they can't tell me if I could build an integration for Home Assistant.
Will have to see if I can find the time to sniff the network connection protocol and reverse engineer the API.
I see there is a plug-in for HomeAssistant under development that is based on another Traeger library in GitHub. I didn’t see any work for HomeBridge, which is what I’d prefer.I have both HomeBridge and HomeAssistant servers running on RPI's and have been looking for both Traeger and Fireboard integration. Looks like the API's are encrypted, which is good in one way for security, but bad in the other way for us tinkerers. Of course I could be wrong here, but this is my findings.
I have HomeBridge installed at home on my Mac and I use it for some WiFi bulbs which do not have HomeKit support. HomeBridge allows me to switch them on and off using Siri on my iPhone but not for more complex functions, such as dimming. Maybe the support is better on other systems like linux, but I believe HomeBridge has some ways to go before it can be really useful. I cannot imagine that this will work with Traegers in its current form.I see there is a plug-in for HomeAssistant under development that is based on another Traeger library in GitHub. I think it is a matter of how well your HomeBridge plug-in supports the particular piece of hardware. I use the Ring plug-in, for instance, and I get all manner of alerts and control. When I had a Nest thermostat I could set the temperature and hvac mode from HomeKit easily.I have HomeBridge installed at home on my Mac and I use it for some WiFi bulbs which do not have HomeKit support.
