Sleep or idle mode

I spent 3 more hours with Traeger yesterday. This tech said it’s a known issue for Wi-Fi enabled grills and to disconnect the Wi-Fi and it would work.

I’m trying that.

Really happy I spent the extra money for the smart cooker.
I had this problem on Thanksgiving day, smoked a brisket for about 12 hours and could not finish the cook and the turkey only about half way. Sleep mode 6 times from that point forward, read your post. Turned off wifi and it still went to sleep a few minutes after ignition.

yes I agree, and why do some not have problems but others a constant problem. why has this been a problem for a long long time. you would think that they would be on top of that issue

My Silverton 625 started doing this multiple times today. Are there any solutions yet?

Silverton 620, did the update tonight. After working for about 2 hours, went into sleep mode at 3a.m. Super frustrated as my brisket could have been ruined given the 33 degree ambient temp and not planning on checking again for another 4 hours when I plan on waking up... Glad you all posted about this and I disabled the WiFi. Seems to be at least operational for now.

How stupid do you have to be to approve production level software updates with a clear bug and history going back years with this issue. You guys are supposed to have this all worked out and be the best at this wifire stuff.

Products bought at Costco are all old outdated parts they assemble into Frankenstein models. The controller on a new Costco cooker is likely several years old. Thus you experience old problems. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Crazy... Just got a Timberline 850 and can't even get through the first stage of the seasoning process without it going to sleep. Was on with support for over 3 hours and it ended with them telling me I had a bad ignitor and that they're sending me a new one. I'm not convinced that's the issue, and am going to try running it while it's disconnected from the network tomorrow.
