Just purchased and first cook on a Timberline 850.
Second rack to fill w/3 rib racks. Dripped over and also dripped over actual drop disposable drip tray. Dripped and hardened now in front long trap tray ? Is this ok? Is this normal? As in is this what the front tray, trap is for?

Personally, I hate the thought of cleaning grease from the grease chute and bucket. Thus, I try never to let grease ever get that far. I use a baking pan covered in aluminum foil on the bottom rack of my Ironwood to catch any drippings. I place my cook on the top rack. When the foil is messy, I toss it in the garbage and add a new layer of foil.

When doing something large like a turkey or ham, I use a foil roasting pan and rack to keep the drippings contained.

Admittedly, I have not tried cooking three racks of ribs at the same time, but if you place them diagonally on the grate, I would think you could keep the drippings over a drip pan.
