Curious as to why you boneless suck, besides having to tie them up?

Smoking two butts now for a bday (Nephew's) as well. Started my at 0245. I usually use bone in as well but bought these butts from Costco, first time, and all they had were boneless. Hence the reason I am asking why boneless "sucks"

Costco rarely has bone in. I just feel the bone in has more flavor. Just personal preference.

So what’s everyone’s preference for pellets on pork butts? I used to use hickory and felt it was a little much now I thought apple was a little too mild. I’ve been wanting to try pecan or maybe apple/pecan mixed?

Or maybe the signature blend? I’ve done several butts with several pellets I guess I’m more looking for ideas now that I have my smoke tube to really get that smoke flavor. Mine have always been mild smoke other than the straight hickory.
