Here is a pretty fair review of the Weber SmokeFire

No other pellet cooker in the market is a grill. The Smokefire is truly unique. The grease fire issue is total crap and is not more likely than any other except for the fact that people don’t grill as often on all the other brands because they are not good at grilling. Grease on a pan above the heat source is a far worse design than grease below the heat source. Even if is mixed with dust. Get a Smokefire to even 500 and stick you hand in the barrel. It’s way hotter than other pellet cookers because it’s quasi direct heat as opposed to the indirect oven effect you get from all the competitors. It’s night and day. 600 degrees is a beast. Here is a pretty fair review of the Weber SmokeFire
Monthsmy word how long did he run the grill to get that much dust?
I just can’t imagine that happened in any sort of reasonable time that would allow for you to blame weber for that buildupMonths
Good review. I can see he actually like the grill to have both generations. I am sure there is a solution to address the grill / dust and perhaps minimize it. The whole fam blowing direction should be reviewed further as part of the solution. Here is a pretty fair review of the Weber SmokeFire
You know what looks to be the most annoying part of the Smokefire to me? That pellet hopper. Long, skinny and on the backside of the grill. I think solution is to just get a scoop and not try and poor from the bucket, which maybe one should do anyway, but it’s a bit of an inconvenient location Eden is there is a reason for its placement
there is dust blowing in the cooker but it again is a non issue. There are some things which are different and Revolutionary really about the Smokefire. The fact it’s different makes some people think it’s a problem when it’s not. All that dust down there doesn’t bother the cooker a bit. If it did he would have cleaned it up. It’s easier to clean to cuz you just scrape the stuff down the holes into the drawer. No big deflector shield to remove just a few smaller parts. If you sift your pellets then the bad corner trick wouldn’t work. “Not a big deal” is a relative term. It’s not a deal breaker or anything I wouldn’t think but it looks like it would be annoying. Like I said though, just adjust to using a scoop and that would help. Either way it’s not as easy to get to our fill as something like a Traegerpits similar to the Memphis. That’s due to the rear feed which dramatically shortens the auger and the path the pellets have to take to the pot. It’s not a big deal. Cut the corner of the bag and you have a natural spout. It is something people have to make an adjustment to though.
That is for sure. I don’t sift so no big deal. It is definitely not as easy as a traditional side mounted hopper. It’s also higher to reach up which is a challenge for shorter folks as well.
