Caught Covid on 6/15/23 . Was in bed for two weeks. Was very bored and found a web site talking about pellet smokers. Had never really thought about pellet grills before. The more I read the more interested I became in the subject of pellet grills. After a couple of days reading ,researching and watching videos I decided I had to have one of these . My daughter introduced me to an auction website. They had many thing available. After bidding on several pellet smokers and not winning the bid a Traeger Pro575 came up. I got the Pro for 415 plus fees. I will be doing my first smoke this weekend.

Welcome to the Forum! Great place and great folks on here. You can enter key words into the search feature and find out most anything you need to know about cooking on a Traeger. If you’re like I was when I first got my Pro 780, I expected a more rich smoke flavor and was really disappointed because I’m from South Carolina and we’ve grown up with a strong smoke flavor. The pellet grills won’t come close unless you use some smoke tubes. You’ll find plenty of information on them on here and if you have questions we’ll do our best to answer them. Just remember we’re a picture hungry bunch , good or bad show us your cooks!

Welcome to the "dark side".
I was an offset man for 40 years. Wife gave me a Traeger last February and I got rid of my stick burners.
I'm too old to tend a fire all night.
Lot's of good info on here.

Cigars and whiskey by the pit all night. Those were indeed the good old days. It's Hell to get old.

Congrats on the new Traeger and welcome to the forum! Let us know how the first smoke goes!
