Traeger has just stopped responding to me. I just don't understand, the units are not cheap. I own 2 different traegers, never again if they don't take care of this problem..

I assume you are done shopping at Costco as well? They basically told you to piss off, right?

Reach out on FaceBook. If you bought it at Costco, just return it. That's what I did and bought a Green Mountain Davey Crockett for my portable pellet grill. It fits great in my camper's rear compartment for travel.

Take it back to Costco and then find a retailer and pay up for the Ranger. It’s a beast! Sometimes the cheap stuff is just that.

I recommend the Ranger as well. Had the Scout and could not get the temp dialed in. Just did my first cook on the Ranger and it was great! Set at 275 for a tri-tip and it literally stayed at 275! What a big difference! I know Home Depot has the Ranger in stock in my area…

Deal with Traeger tech suppoert. They will send you a new controler. Install it and it probably wont work either. Tech support again. They will have you do a video call to monitor and verify the startup temps and high temp etc Be prepared to spend some time with them. Assuming it is still not good they will probably send you a new Ranger as a replacement. At least, thats what happened with me. I did bought the Scout at Costco also

I did the same thing and they are sending me a new unit, they called it a Traeger Trailhead, but the picture they sent me looks just like the Ranger. Said it will be here in about a week. Will keep updatesosted as they happen.

I picked up a Scout at a Costco in SLC a few weeks ago to keep in my RV. The control was awful. After a few emails and calls they sent me the Trailhead as a replacement, it looks the same but has a digital controller. It looks like the Ranger except it didn’t come with the griddle.
Hold temp well, but the lowest setting is 215….

Just received my Trailhead yesterday as a replacement for the Scout, going out of town for a week will test it when I get back. Looks like a Scout with a Ranger controller and no flat plate.
