I saw this come across my news feed today, and I am very eager to try them in my Traeger. I really hope that they will deliver the traditional wood charcoal taste like a charcoal smoker.

Pit Boss also sells them. A couple of people here tried them, and they are so hard that they stopped the auger.

In was intrigued, but reports on the Jack Daniels charcoal pellets were bad. I'm keen to hear actual results on these in a Traeger.

NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

I like Royal Oak, but auger issues and damage is not worth it!!
Not even if it's a chance.

he speaks truth, and just because it's a new product doesn't convince me yet.
I have 3 other rigs I can get my 'charcoal' flavor on, I need to use one soon.

I got a bag of PB. Charcoal pellets , I was going to try them in the Traeger but I think I’ll just use them in the smoke tube.

I don't have any charcoal grills so these would be cool, if they worked.

I understand, and yes, "if they work"... I'll let others find that out first... I would probably MIX them if I ever tried them, but that's if...

If they stay lit that would be how I'd use them, in fact I got 3 tubes now. I'll wait till you say they work. Or just try these Royal Oak ones in the smoke tube... OR BELLA!!!!

I have used the Pit Boss variety too without an issue so far, and I do like the flavor that they produce. The Pit Boss charcoal pellets are a blend of charcoal and wood; whereas, Royal Oak is stating 100% charcoal. I like the idea of putting them in a smoke tube.

I keep saying that as soon as I need the bucket I am tossing them. The. Full. Damn. Bag.

Oh well, that's about $8 lost.

I've still got a bag of Traeger pellets, I won't even use those in my smoke tube... "here kitty kitty kitty"
