Costco Silverton 810
I have been thinking about purchasing the Ironwood 885, worrying about the cost, wifi and lid issues. So based on recent threads about the Costco Silverton 620 which is a Pro 575 knockoff, I thought I would find a Costco Traeger roadshow and take a look. So what did I find? A Silverton 810, same size as the Ironwood 885 except slightly smaller top shelf. Looks exactly the same as the Silverton 620 with the front and side shelf, except larger. The rep said it is the first one he has seen. He was expecting the Silverton 620 to sell. It has the Ironwood / Timberline D2 controller, 500 degrees and Super Smoke, wifire, D2 direct drive, downdraft exhaust, built in cabinet and pellet sensor. Plus, it has double stainless insulation in the pan and on the lid bottom edge (but not on the sides?). The Traeger rep said it is the equivalent to the Timberline, and comes with a free cover, cookbooks, spices, drip pan liners and pellets. I asked the rep about wifi issues, and he said this is a new 3rd generation wifire without the connection issues (not sure if I buy that statement). So, it looks like I may purchase at Costco for the price. Thoughts???

Go for it! If you don’t end up liking it, it’s Costco. Return it! But honestly, you’ll probably enjoy the shit out of it. But buy a smoke tube as well. Super smoke is a neat button. But it’s just a button I’ve found, unless cooking at the lowest temp for hours and hours with the strongest pellets. Just my opinion tho ??

Okay, bought if last weekend. Put it together, not bad. Wifire connection, took me a couple of days, but finally got it with the most recent app update, having to toggle my phones wifi connection several times between my network and the grill. I reallly like the app. First time firing up was no problem. The temp was spot on during the seasoning of the grill. This thing is great, really happy and now have my faith put back into Traeger. The bottom cabinet is great, hiding the drip pan. And the 5 year warranty that comes a Traeger from Costco ain’t bad either. So far, a great purchase and I am a happy cooker....

I think you'll be really happy with that. I'm a year into the PRO575, had several issues at first but it has settled in to an easy and reliable grill, love it. Switched back to my Akorn for a bit and I still like it too, but dang the Traeger is easy! Sounds like the Costco Silverton has some nice bonus features at a good price.

Could you share some pics of it? There is nothing on the internet about it.

Here you go.

@abjrjrm Are sure its not the Silverton 620 (2020) version? I was at a Costco Roadshow and the new Silverton 620 was presented with the new WiFire and D2 Controller but listed for $699 ($799 on their website). I do not see anywhere where an 810 was listed or shown.

This is all I find on the website for the Silverton and it looks identical to yours... https://www.costco.com/traeger-silverton-620-pellet-grill.product.100506764.html

Honestly, if there is a Silverton 810 that is larger I would be interested.

I just picked up the Silverton 810 on Saturday the 620 controller was different than the 810 it didn’t have as many buttons or features as the 810

What was the price of the 810? Going to another Costco this afternoon and will see if they are showing the 810 as I have not seen one yet.

Can anyone tell me what the Item Number is for the Silverton 810 at Costco? Maybe I need to have them look it up and tell me what store I can find it. All I am seeing currently is the new 2020 Silverton 620 with the new WiFire and D2 driver (Item 1902248).

If you look up Traeger roadshow on the Traeger website or Costco website they usually have a listing of the Costco’s they are at and what Costco they are coming too
The sales rep said that the 810 just came out and his brand new there is no real information about it on the website or websites yet

I was at t Costco over the weekend and they had the silverton 810 with the new controller. I ended up buying it. it was a huge upgrade from the texas model it is replacing. the rep told me the hopper is largest they have used at 24 pounds (box said it was a 20 pound hopper not sure what it really has). Rep told me the base (bottom 1/2) is all triple walled and that is the most critical area to insulate (its probably just double walled in most areas and triple in 1 tiny spot but i didn't really look). It has the pellet sensor and newer D2 controller like ironwood. has the black coated grates and stainless steel front and side shelves like ironwood. when you open the lid of the silverton the whole top opens up. i like this design better as i can see and reach all areas of the grill. plus if you try and flip something on the top rack you dont have to move the food forward and do a ninja move flipping and throwing the food back into its slot. to me the lid design was the selling feature. the 3 things i see right away that the ironwood has and the silverton is missing are 1- does not have double wall sides (it does have a small strip of double wall on the front edge of the lid, ) 2-it does not have a hole to stick a probe through. I have not hooked the probe up yet but from what i can tell the only option will be to smash the probe lead between the base and the lid. I know from experience this typically will cause a hot spot and ruin the probe. 3-lastly the silverton does not have any gaskets around the lid. but in the defense of silverton the lid to base contact is flat on flat and seems to self seal with 1 inch wide contact points, where the iron wood is a round on round and over time (if like the texas) will warp a tad and leak. time will tell if the silerton will warp. oh it does not have that bamboo cutting board but that was far from important to me.
