Remove the drip pan and the metal thing over the fire pot and have a look to see what’s in the fire pot. Probably full of ashes and pellets. Vacuum it out and try again. I’ve been vacuuming the grill out after every other use and I’ve had no issues. Most issues are caused by ashes and excess pellets in the fire pot.
I second the the vacuuming of the fire pot. I purchased a mini shop vac from amazon and vacuum out the fire pot and grill before each use. It has helped with heat issues and the spreading of ash when the fan is on
