I have an iPad that I was planning on using for the Meater app. If I leave that at home and connected to WiFi, I think I should be able to monitor it from my phone even if I'm somewhere else?

I usually just roll with the Traeger probe. It's been pretty reliable. But sometimes the cord just gets in the way.

I have no idea as to the answer to your question. Sorry. That would be nice if so.

Yes. that is my current set up. I have an iPad mount on the wall that is able to connect to the Meater which connects to the cloud. I can then connect to the cloud or the meater from my phone from anywhere.
