Meat probe not working.

I just bought an old model tailgater and the meat probe will not give me a ready when I hit the probe selector button. Am I missing something or not waiting long enough. Or could it be defective? It was plugged in before I took the picture

Will the grill function otherwise? If so I honestly wouldn’t spend much time worrying with it. I’ve got two of the Traeger probes in my garage, one never opened, because they aren’t any good. I’d recommend getting a third party probe with 4-6 probes so you can better monitor ambient and your protein.

But saying all that…..sorry I don’t have an answer to your question

Ace hardware sells a Traeger “Hot Rod” replacement for the ambient grill temperature rod.

They also sell a two pack of the internal probes
