Introducing: The New Traeger Flatrock Flat Top Grill

I only stand behind the blackstone because I know how great it is I have had one a very long time, every online search of best outdoor griddles has it as best choice. Thousands of great reviews, and yes best in price. I for one can’t wait until the Traeger is truly on the market, then we’ll see if it’s worth over twice the price of the Blackstone. I just have my doubts considering how their grills have been loosing ground to other brands. It has absolutely nothing to do with a name and bling, it’s all about how it preforms, dependability and yes price.
I assume you didn’t read the link as it is for a comparable Blackstone at the same price as the Traeger. Based upon reviews so far it will outperform the comparable Blackstone at the same price as a comparable model. I am thoroughly convinced it is not for you no matter how good it is.

I gotcha man. My only point is why pay for all the extras?, at the end of the day the “plain stripped down Blackstone” I’ve been referring to all along will give the same end results. $900 or $300 to me is what? Three times more expensive. No I did read your link but I’ve never argued comparing the overpriced Blackstone to the overpriced Traeger, I simply said that my many years of owning and regularly using a cheap ass griddle that had lasted me ten years without letting me down has sold me on Blackstone. All those fancy extras are great if you’re into that knowing it’s not going to give you any cooking advantage over the other. So I’m just gonna end this debate now. You won!!!

Sure. Like I said I can see it’s not for you no matter what.🤦🏼‍♂️
Why do professional chefs use a high end appliance? I’m sure it’s out of ignorance. They could just use the cheapest stripped down stove on the market and still cook great food. 🤦🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️
Like another poster pointed out it is senseless to compare a cheapo stripped down model to one’s built better with additional features. They aren’t for the same people and they aren’t the same product. 🤦🏼‍♂️

I’d also pay the $900 if I had a nice outdoor kitchen and wanted something that looked good. As it is, my old Blackstone is pretty much out of sight, for the most part.

My current house really isn’t set up to have a nice outdoor kitchen but if I can ever convince the wife that we need to retire, move back to FL, and build a great outdoor space you can damn well bet I won’t hesitate buying one of those!

It’s all good here guys, I didn’t mean to get you going and I meant no disrespect whatsoever. Even though I can afford almost anything I want and I do have some very upscale friends, they could care less about my cheap ass griddle in my nice outdoor kitchen of my extremely expensive house (I’m a builder so it’s more a end product than a show off) my buddies just want to drink some cold beer and eat some good food while enjoying each others company. We’re all different and that’s a good thing. I really hope that the Traeger lives up to the name and time will tell.

I hope you didn’t think I was arguing with you. Like I said, I have a sub $200 Blackstone and it works great for me. I don’t have this because it’s all I can afford, but because it’s all I need. Or want.

For now.

And if I up grade it’s certainly not to impress any friends. But we’re really getting off topic.

Absolutely I didn’t, I got off topic and didn’t mean to. All good here. Hopefully the Traeger will be as good as our old Blackstones.

My wife’s cousin who owns the hardware store had two ordered when I talked to him last week. I’ll report back if he’s got any feedback.
